The sayers’ statement that life begins at age forty is easy to understand and has the simple meaning of the ‘beginning’ of something. Its purpose, as I reflect on life at the age of eighties explain the entire lifespan, from conception to death. The saying tells of the processes the body’s systems undergo. It talks of youth life with great energy and slowing of body functions as the body’s biological changes happen.
The reality is that by understanding yourself, you realize that before the age of forty, you had a lot of energy and spent it exploring what was available in life. You can bridge the gap between forty years of life exploration and life after forty years to the end of time.. You realize that changing your body is a biological process, not an event. You will notice that the body becomes exhausted and that much energy is lost over forty years. You believe that you do not need an academic degree to note the exhaustion.
Self-awareness prepares you to rejuvenate the body by doing the right things like having faith in God our helper in everything, eating the proper diet, seeing gynecologist support, and getting an annual health check-up. Engaging in suitable activities because everything you feel emanates from the biological change. And doctors who have studied the body’s biology can help you resolve many body change demands.
The quick fixes like a new body look, visiting beaches, new areas, movies, church crusades, and praying on the mountain top may not be the answers. Speaking in tongue, lacking love, putting youth photos on the wall, dressing young and losing weight; admiring and coping with youth activities, and lifting the same weight in the gym as when one was young, speaking the language of youth may fail. A new house, new friends, alcoholism, smoking, herbal drugs, and viagra would fail you. For the married separations, divorce, new love, exterminating self’-life, and so on may leave you the same way. These activities are only temporary and do not always restore what depreciated in the body over forty years of life exploration. These quick activities mostly drain the family finances, setting the stage for the members to harm each other. Thus, resulting in a tragic end to life for an individual, parents, children, and posterity.
God, who created the body, is the source of body strength. The body is the temple of the Holy Spirit of God, our helper who is given to us to help us live a godly life by providing us with wisdom and knowledge of God. The wisdom of God teaches us about the seasons of our body, mind, and spirit. Help us to pray to God to renew the strength of our bodies and to stay on the right track as we age. In my eighties, I have no the strength to turn the can opener knob. I assumed at a young age that I would have the strength to open a small tin with a mature can opener. I need to get an electric can opener.
Faith in God, healthy doctors, a proper diet, and adequate sleep are also available to help us act following our age and the state of our bodies. True joy comes from God’s wisdom in teaching us to do what we can and seek help for what we can’t. And without harming ourselves or the others eternity, we’ve built up over the last forty years. If we pray and have faith in God, he will help us through difficult times.
