MY DESIRE

Life is precious, and my desire is to cherish every moment without the looming threat of another stroke. Having endured three strokes in a row—one each in 2022, 2023, and 2024—I am profoundly aware of the fragility of health and the resilience of the human spirit. These experiences have sharpened my focus, strengthened my faith, and deepened my resolve.

My doctors have provided a clear roadmap to safeguard my future: consistent exercise, achieving a healthy weight, maintaining normal cholesterol and A1c levels, eating a balanced diet, and adhering faithfully to prescribed medications. These actions are more than a checklist; they are a lifeline, a commitment to living abundantly and purposefully.

As a pastor, blogger, and author, my mission is to inspire others to trust in God, the ultimate healer and helper of all time. I have learned that physical health and spiritual wellness are deeply intertwined. God calls us to honor Him with our bodies as temples of the Holy Spirit (1 Corinthians 6:19-20), and this journey toward better health is also a journey of faith and obedience.

The Path Forward:

  1. Exercise as Worship: Each step I take is not just a physical action but an act of gratitude for the body God has given me. Walking, stretching, or lifting weights becomes a form of praise, acknowledging that I am fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalm 139:14).
  2. Nourishment for the Body and Soul: My plate reflects a commitment to health, filled with foods that sustain and energize. But my spiritual plate is equally important—filled daily with Scripture, prayer, and reflection on God’s promises.
  3. Medication and Discipline: Following medical advice is a way to steward the life God has entrusted to me. Taking prescribed medication on time and as directed is an act of trust—not just in my doctors but in the wisdom God has given them.
  4. Community and Accountability: I lean on family, friends, and my church community to encourage me on this journey. Together, we celebrate progress, pray through challenges, and share wisdom that keeps us all moving forward.

Through my blogging and writing, I share my experiences and encourage others to prioritize their health—both physical and spiritual. I remind them that God is not distant in our struggles but present, offering His strength in our weakness (2 Corinthians 12:9).

Transforming Challenges into Testimonies
While strokes have marked my past, they do not define my future. Instead, they serve as a testimony of God’s sustaining grace and the power of hope. My story is not just about overcoming adversity but about using it as a platform to uplift others.

Let this journey be a reminder: we can choose to partner with God in taking care of the bodies He has given us. With discipline, faith, and perseverance, we can transform even the most daunting challenges into victories that glorify Him.

Today, I am walking forward in faith—step by step, day by day, trusting in the Great Physician to guide me toward a future filled with health, purpose, and His abundant blessings.
